Taking Dexofen with food and drinks
Take the tablets with a sufficient amount of water. Take the tablets with food as this can reduce the risk of side effects from the stomach or of intestinal origin. However, if you are experiencing acute pain, take the tablets on an empty stomach, for example at least 30 minutes before a meal, as it will slightly accelerate the effect.
Children and adolescents
Do not take Dexofen, if you are under 18 years old.
Pregnancy and lactation
Do not take Dexofen during pregnancy and lactation.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as Dexofen may not be suitable for you.
If you are not sure you should take Dexofen while breastfeeding, consult your doctor.
Driving and operating machines
Dexofen may slightly affect your ability to drive and operate machines due to possible induction of dizziness or drowsiness as side effects. If you notice such effects, do not drive or operate machinery until your symptoms have resolved.

How to take Dexofen?
Always take Dexofen exactly as described in this leaflet or as you have been told by your doctor or pharmacist. If you're not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The dose of Dexofen depends on the type, intensity and duration of pain. Your doctor will determine how many tablets a day should be taken and the duration of therapy.
The recommended dose is generally 1 tablet (25 mg) every 8 hours but not more than 3 tablets per day (75 mg).
If you are elderly or if you suffer from impaired renal or hepatic function, you should start a treatment with a total daily dose of no more than 2 tablets (50 mg).
In elderly patients, the initial dose may be increased to the total recommended daily dose (75 mg), if Dexofen 25 mg was well tolerated.
If the pain is intense and you need fast relief, take the tablets on an empty stomach (at least 30 minutes before meals), as this would facilitate their absorption (see section. 2 Taking Dexofen 25 mg with food and drinks).
If you take too much Dexofen, tell your doctor or pharmacist or go to the emergency department of the nearest hospital.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. Take the next regular dose as scheduled.
If you have any questions about using this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
